Since Google Reader is down, I have used TheOldReader as an alternative.
Now it stopped working for some reason...
Before writing my own simple tool, I checked again Google's suggested alternatives. http://alternativeto.net/software/google-reader/
InoReader seems to be easy and functional...
One more alternative: feedly
