Linked Data - Connect Distributed Data across the Web

Linked Data | Linked Data - Connect Distributed Data across the Web

Linked Data as "a term used to describe a recommended best practice for exposing, sharing, and connecting pieces of data, information, and knowledge on the Semantic Web using URIs and RDF."

Semantic Web is one on of W3C technologies that is useful, but not used much, because it is misunderstood, and used often in wrong way.

In fact, Semantic (Web) technology is used in some of core Google's tools, as well as in Microsoft's Search tools. They are just not visible for end-users.

Another similar example is SVG, Scalable Vector Graphics: created 12 years ago, it is now becoming popular to help with high-resolution screens of various sizes.
