NASA: Android Phone as a Satellite

podcast: Will Marshall | Android in Space: @ IT Conversations

NASA is experimenting with using a standard smartphone (Google Nexus) as a core of a satellite.

The cost of "standard" custom satellites is in $ hundreds of millions.

The satellite is also open source.
